About Us
LongRates.Com began in 2005 after two entrepreneurs watched
a news broadcast about decreasing gas rates in Southern California.
The reporter added, almost as an afterthought, that it was
the third time rates had been lowered , but most customers
were never informed about the new rate structures.
The company’s founders decided they could do something
about this lack of communication to consumers and the idea
for LongRates.Com was born.
LongRates.Com started on a local level, visiting local school
functions and gathered rate information from members of their
community and their service providers. They manually entered
the information in emails, and sent them out by hand to their
customers.
As the number of customers grew, the team realized the need
to automate their business, and the interned provided the perfect
vehicle. LongRates.Com launched soon after that and has been
providing up –to-the-minute rate information to customers
in Southern California ever since.
